Nadichikitsa; A blessing for well being!
While discussing health and wellbeing, we can talk about so many nuances of it. Ayurveda, on that note, holds a remarkable place. Being one of the ancient branches of medical science, we at Ayurvishwa Healthcare believe it to be an art; the art of healing through traditional yet significant methods.
The meaning of Ayurveda is the 'science of life'. Ayurveda
reveals the answers to questions such as 'What is life?'; 'How should one be
living his/her life?'; 'What is the age(Ayu) limit?'; 'Healthy and unhealthy
lifestyle, food habits'; 'What causes diseases?'; etc.
Ayurveda has enfolded the
detailed answers to all the above and related queries and it eventually focuses
on the causes of diseases and their treatments. To diagnose the disease,
Ayurveda Doctors (Nadi Vaidya) use the Eight-Fold Examination or Ashthana
pariksha.
1.. Nadi(Pulse)
2. Mutra(Urine)
3. Mala(feces) 4. Jivha(Tongue)
5. Shabda(Sounds in the body)
6. Sparsha(Temperature of the body)
7. Drika(Eyes)
8. Aakriti(Structure of the body)
Among these, Nadi
pariksha is one of the significant methods. Nadi means to pulse/ Nerve /
Veins/Arteries or channels in our body that detect physiological or
pathological changes in our body.
Let's delve into
Nadichikitsa and its methodology.
Nadichikitsa is a
treatment based on a unique ayurvedic diagnostic technique called Nadiparikshan (Pulse Examination). Nadi Parikshan finds its roots around 5000 years
ago. It's been used for the Diagnosis of tridoshas in the body to conclude the
disease. The cure is found by examining patients' physical, physiological, and
psychological conditions, that help eliminate the disease from its roots.
In Ayurveda, every
disease is categorized based on Vata, Pitta & Kapha (doshas), which are the
elements of our body. Any imbalance in these elements causes disease, which can
be easily examined by Nadiparikshan. By incorporating a comprehensive
treatment, these diseases can achieve symptomatic relief as well as the root
cause is healed.
Nadi Pariksha is performed on the precise location of the wrist,
left-hand wrist for women, and right-hand wrist for men. Nadichikitsa Doctor
known as Nadi-vaidya performs Nadipariksha at the radial artery, using the
index, middle & ring fingers corresponding to Vata, pitta, and Kapha respectively.
Nadichikitsa Doctors can sense the specific movement(Laya), speed(Gati), and
pattern of movements in the artery. Depending upon the observation, tridoshas
and position of sapta dhatus are analyzed. This helps to diagnose the changes
in the human body. Nadi Vaidya can diagnose the accurate root cause of the
patient's symptoms and forewarn the patient about potential health risks. He
can also give the patient an insight into how to optimize health and give him a
personalized prognosis about Vyadhi.
Today, the medical field is facing cases of various challenging
diseases and disorders that are chronic and critical to treat. These conditions
may include joint disorders like knee pains, spine disorders, Osteoarthritis,
Sciatica, Gout; skin disorders such as Psoriasis, Eczema, Allergies; digestive
problems, chronic cough, asthma, paediatric problems, migraine, and many more.
These diseases, if treated by only symptoms, may not be cured
properly. A patient can feel the relief till the completion of a medicine course
after which it again resumes the pain (disease is only suppressed).
Nadichikitsa, one of the effective Ayurvedic Therapies for Diseases, is a
treatment based on finding the root cause of the disease that plays a very
important role in treating such conditions.
At Ayurvishwa Healthcare, Nadichikitsa Doctors(Nadi vaidya) perform
Nadichikitsa thoroughly and curate well-researched and thoughtfully organized
treatments. Depending upon the patient's overall health, proper medication or
Ayurvedic treatments like Panchakarma and some lifestyle changes are suggested.
Ayurveda is a lifestyle. Nadichikitsa, in today's modern world,
is a technique to achieve both physical and mental health. It is a blessing for
your well being!
